As a follow-up to the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs (3RproMar) project and building on the experiences of the ASEAN Municipal Solid Waste Management Enhancement (AMUSE), the 3RproMar Phase II project is implemented in 4 ASEAN Member States (AMS) including Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. The project aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of ASEAN Member States (AMS) in implementing integrated waste management and CE, with a focus on marine debris prevention. To achieve this, the project focuses on enhancing technical and organizational capacities at the regional, national, and local levels.

 

The project outcome includes three output areas: (1) Improve the framework conditions for scaling sustainable business and financing models for the transition to a sustainable circular economy in the ASEAN region; (2) Strengthen regulatory frameworks of AMS for the transition to a gender-responsive circular economy, with a focus on marine litter prevention; ​and (3) Strengthen the capacities of selected stakeholders at provincial and municipal level to promote integrated waste management using sustainable business models. ​

 

The 3RproMar II – Viet Nam Component project is offering an internship opportunity with details below:

 

National Intern

Office location: Hanoi, Viet Nam

Duration: 6 months starting from April 2026

 

During the internship, the Intern will learn and practice on the following areas:

 

  • Project implementation focusing on waste management, environmental policy, and circular economy including
  • Administration activities at project
  • Project documentations and information consolidation  
  • Project activities on technical topics, i.e. environmental policy, circular economy
  • Project impact-orientated monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge management
  • Translation of project documents (English and Vietnamese)
  • Project closure process and the formalization of related documentation and procedures
  • PR and communication related activities
  • Logistical arrangements for the events, workshops, field trips

 

Minimum requirements:

 

  • Vietnamese citizen, who are in the last year of their bachelor/postgraduate study or newly graduated students within 6 months upon commencement of the internship
  • Academic background in environmental studies/engineering, waste management/recycling, environmental protection, sustainable development, marine ecosystems, or other related fields
  • Good knowledge of English and Vietnamese, written and spoken
  • Strong interest in environment, plastic circularity, solid waste management, and circular economy
  • Computer literacy and ability to use efficiently the basic Microsoft Office© software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communications tools (internet, email, LinkedIn)
  • High self-motivation, soft skills for interpersonal communication
  • Ability of handling multiple tasks Open-minded and keen to learn and work in a dynamic and intercultural environment
  • Strong interest in networking and international development cooperation
