Junior Project Officer

In addition to the bilateral portfolio, GIZ is supporting the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in realizing key deliverables towards a dynamic, inclusive, and people-centered region. In the area of regional economic integration, the project “Support to Consumer Protection, Competitiveness, and SMEs in ASEAN” (SUCCESS) promotes inclusive and fair business practices among SMEs. Activities include market talks and learning sessions on the regional platform ASEAN Access (www.aseanaccess.com); strengthening women-led SMEs for cross-border trade; and improving compliance with new regulations in an evolving digital environment. For this, synergies are being realized in close cooperation with other regional and global projects on AI and digital skills.

 

The project is looking for a qualified local candidate to fill the following position:

 

Junior Project Officer

on Learning and Stakeholder Management

Duty station: Hanoi

Duration: ASAP until 31/12/2027

 

Main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Manage virtual learning offers on ASEAN Access and other platforms (e.g. ATINGI), including concept development, follow-up on expert inputs and feedback, online meeting hosting and facilitation;
  • Support the overall operational planning and output monitoring of project activities, including tracking event/course and user/learner data;
  • Manage internal and external communications to promote project results within GIZ as well as through partners’ channels, including social media posts, videos, and testimonials;
  • Assist project officers in the organization and implementation of online and offline events, including logistics, partner liaison, translation, and documentation/reporting;
  • Records management for the correct filing and archiving according to GIZ regulations.

 

Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in foreign or public policy, political science, economics, or other related field, preferably with digitalization and ASEAN as part of the degree;
  • First experiences with project and event management in the context of international development cooperation;
  • First experiences with knowledge management and results-based monitoring;
  • First experiences in communication management and public relations;
  • First experiences in workshop and training design and delivery, including on online platforms and learning management systems;
  • Basic understanding of budget planning and cost tracking;
  • Excellent communication skills, especially fluency in written and oral English;
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and dynamic intercultural environments;
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
