Communication Officer

 

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

 

The European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) is an international solidarity organization created in 1988 in France which implements socio-economic development projects in partnership with local institutions across 16 countries. The IECD intervenes in particular in the fields of education, vocational training and professional integration, entrepreneurship and access to health for the most vulnerable people.

 

The IECD started its activities in Vietnam in 2013 and currently supports 4 projects:

 

  • A support program for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs (MSE)
  • The Seeds of Hope (SOH) program which improves vocational training quality and job integration for young people in Automotive maintenance in Ho Chi Minh City
  • A Southeast Asian network of vocational schools in the hospitality and catering industry (ASSET-H&C)
  • A French bakery school (LBF) in HCMC, Hue, Bac Ninh

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Under the supervision of IECD Vietnam Representative and Project Managers in Viet Nam, the Communication Officer will mainly focus on all internal and external communication activities of IECD.

His/her main role will include:

1. Communication & Marketing

1.1 Digital Communication

  • Manage IECD Vietnam and project websites (WordPress, Odoo): create and update content (pages, articles, news).
  • Plan and produce high-quality content for social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and newsletters (MailChimp).
  • Monitor online presence (social listening), engage with partners and stakeholders, and share relevant content.
  • Plan and coordinate the production of multimedia content (photos, videos).

1.2 Communication Materials

  • Design and update print and digital materials (brochures, banners, presentations, publications, etc.).
  • Coordinate production of branded materials (goodies, promotional items).
  • Contribute to product packaging design for social business activities.

1.3 Marketing (LBF Social Enterprise)

  • Develop and implement annual marketing campaigns to support sales and training sustainability.
  • Manage and monitor social media and Google Ads campaigns.
  • Support customer engagement on digital platforms.
  • Represent the Social Business at events and networking activities.

 

2. Communication Strategy & Monitoring

  • Ensure brand consistency across projects in line with IECD guidelines.
  • Track and analyze communication performance and KPIs.
  • Contribute to communication strategy with data-driven recommendations.
  • Identify visibility, media, and partnership opportunities.
  • Support fundraising visibility initiatives.

 

3. Coordination & Support

  • Liaise with IECD HQ for global communications (newsletters, annual reports).
  • Coordinate external service providers and partners on communication matters.
  • Support event organization and represent IECD when appropriate.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Communication and/or Digital Marketing.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills in both English and Vietnamese.
  • Proficiency in digital content creation, including photography and basic photo/video editing
  • Creative mindset with a solid understanding of modern communication tools and trends.
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing expectations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Good IT skills and digital literacy.
  • Genuine interest in social impact and community development.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:         University Degree in Marketing | Communications | Journalism | Linguistics or the likes

Experience:       At least 3 years of full-time working experience in NGO | Companies | Organizations

Languages:   

  • Vietnamese (EXCELLENT)
  • English (EXCELLENT in Writing and Conversational Skills – IELTS from 7.0)

Salary range:  VND 23–27 million net per month, depending on experience
