Digital transformation holds great potential for achieving the 2030 Agenda in terms of environmental and climate goals. It is estimated that digital technologies can help reduce global greenhouse gas production by up to 20%. At the same time, a green digital transformation is needed, as digital technologies also contribute to climate change: currently, over 2% of global CO2 emissions are attributed to digitalization.
On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ is implementing the project “Twin Transition Hub: Digitalization and Innovation for Climate and Environmental Protection” in Vietnam. The project supports the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and the private sector in implementing the Twin Transition. In this project, the private sector will be empowered to utilize digital technologies for achieving both business outcomes as well as climate and environmental protection goals.
The project is looking for qualified and professional candidates to fulfill the following positions of
Junior Project Officer (02 positions)
Duty Station: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam
Contract duration: ASAP until 31. October 2028
Main responsibilities:
- Manage the output monitoring and evaluation of activities within the project, as well as outcome for SMEs to measure energy and resource consumption
- Knowledge management within GIZ Viet Nam, regional GIZ offices, the GIZ headquarters as well as outside the GIZ
- Records management for the correct filing and archiving according to GIZ regulations
- Management of public relations and communications/marketing for project activities and its results
- Supporting project officers in the implementation of project activities, specifically the organization and implementation of trainings, as well as event management
- Supporting the procurement of services and goods according to GIZ regulation
- Supporting the operational planning, updating the operational plan and preparation of reports
- Supporting the financial planning, budget monitoring, and cost tracking of project activities
- Supporting the management of consultants/contractors to deliver the designed activities
- Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in digital transformation, information technology, economics, project management, international development, social sciences or other degrees with digital transformation being part of the degree
- First experiences with project management, preferably in the international cooperation sector
- First experiences with monitoring and evaluation
- First experiences with knowledge and records management
- First experiences in public relations and communication management/marketing
- First experiences in the organization and delivery of training measures
- First experiences in event management
- First experiences in financial planning, budget monitoring, and cost tracking
- Managerial and organisational competence
- Willingness to travel (abroad and domestically) regularly
- Very good knowledge of Vietnamese and English, German is a plus
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
