The Agri-Photovoltaics for Rural Areas in Viet Nam (APV) project aims to develop agrivoltaic models in Viet Nam, contributing to the promotion of a sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural sector. The project also addresses land-use challenges associated with the development of solar power projects, thereby supporting the successful implementation of the national targets for renewable energy development under the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050 (PDP8). At the same time, it contributes to Viet Nam’s commitment, announced by the Prime Minister at COP26, to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The project APV are looking for a qualified and professional candidate for the position of:
Project Officer “APV”
Duty station: Hanoi, Viet Nam
Duration: 01. May 2026 until 31. December 2027
The major focus of the PO is to support the implementation of the bilateral Agri-Photovoltaics for rural areas in Vietnam Project (Agri-PV), which aims at establishing the planning and technical basis for the gender-sensitive and income-generating development of Agri-Photovoltaics (APV) on agricultural land in Vietnam.
Main responsibilities:
- Provision of technical advice on renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV, to ensure the effective integration of energy generation within agricultural production systems.
- Bringing the energy sector perspective into project activities, policy discussions, and stakeholder consultations related to APV development.
- Supporting the alignment of APV concepts with national renewable energy policies, energy planning frameworks, and grid integration requirements
Minimum requirements:
- University degree in renewable energy, energy engineering, energy economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of renewable energy, particularly in solar energy, energy transition, or energy policy. Experience in energy transformation or sustainable development projects within international cooperation, advisory, or consulting contexts is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the Green Economy and Just Energy Transition landscape in Viet Nam
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, policymakers, and business developers from Energy and Agriculture.
- Strong advisory and project management skills, and experience with execution, monitoring of projects and other project management tasks
- Proven advisory capacities and accomplishments of business level capacity development,
- Strong networking capability
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team; ability to work together with people from different sectors (e.g. private sector, ministries, international experts) and cultural backgrounds
- High-level proficiency of oral and written English and Vietnamese, including solid reporting skills
- Solid computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Strong critical, analytical thinking and structured working abilities. Strong work ethic.
