ADAPT (Able Disabled All People Together), formerly known as The Spastics Society of India (SSI), a Non-Governmental Organization set up by Dr. Mithu Alur in 1972, has been working in the field of disability and education for over 53 years. Its services include assessment, treatment, education, support services for inclusion, counseling, vocational guidance and training, advocacy and awareness, and employment training. ADAPT’s National & Asian Resource Centre for Inclusion was set up to address the implications of inclusion of children with disabilities into mainstream schools, and subsequently, their access to other mainstream services and opportunities. The three principles governing ADAPT are sustainability or self – sufficiency, subsidy or charity for the needy, and a provision of a high quality of professional services, combined with compassion.

This is supported by regular on – line sessions with ADAPT.
